Govardhan Puja remembers Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan hill to shelter the people of Vrindavan from Indra's storms. A hill of cow-dung is shaped and worshipped, and an Annakut — a 'mountain of food' of many dishes — is offered to Krishna, especially in Braj, Mathura and Vrindavan.
Govardhan Puja is kept on Kartik Shukla Pratipada, usually the day after Diwali, with a morning and an evening muhurat.
The puja is done either in Pratahkala, the first fifth of the day after sunrise, or in Sayankala, the last fifth before sunset. Both windows for your city are listed on this page.
